Recent progress in two-proton radioactivity

During the last few decades, rare isotope beam facilities have provided unique data for studying properties of nuclides located far from beta-stability line. Such nuclei are often accompanied by exotic structures and radioactive modes, which represent forefront nuclear research. Among them, two-proton (2p) radioactivity is a decay mode found in highly proton-rich isotopes. The 2p lifetimes emitted protons hold invaluable information regarding presence low-lying proton continuum; as such, they attracted considerable research attention. In this review, we present some recent experimental theoretical progress decay, including technical innovations measuring nucleon--nucleon correlations developments models that connect their structural aspects with properties. This impressive should play significant role elucidating mechanism these decays, probing corresponding components inside nuclei, providing deep insights into open quantum nature dripline systems.
